Colin Kelly

Colin began his career as a mains and service layer, working his way up through site and regional management to the executive board. His extensive operational experience has been applied on multiple projects in the gas and water sectors, bringing a variety of benefits to clients and helping to drive innovation both within the business and across the wider industry. Immediately prior to co-founding Sapphire Utility Solutions, Colin was Managing Director of Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions. As it’s MD, Colin is leading Sapphire Utility Solutions through phenomenal growth, reaching a turnover of £19m in just it’s fourth year

Graham Ault

director of development, Smarter Grid Solutions

Graham is Executive Director of Smarter Grid Solutions (SGS) and leads the company products, services and marketing activities and also plays a full role in research, innovation, development and overall business leadership and strategy.  He plays a lead role for SGS in power sector leadership groups including DSPx (DoE, US), IET/ESC Future Power System Architecture (FPSA, UK), CIRED conference Technical Committee, ENA DNO-DG Forum (UK) and previously the Smart Grid Forum (UK).  Ongoing initiatives include new markets development, SGS product launches, Active Network Management (ANM) BAU roll-out, and DSO initiatives with UK and US customers. He is a Fellow of the IET, Senior Member of the IEEE, CEng (2000) and has PhD (2000), BEng (1993) and PGCert (2004) from Strathclyde University and was a Professor of Power Systems there until 2016.

Jonathan Kini

As CEO of Drax Retail, Jonathan oversees business operations and champions Drax’s retail strategy across Haven Power and Opus Energy. He is responsible for pursuing increased business growth through small-to-medium enterprise (SME) sectors, and for sustaining and growing Drax Retail’s industrial and commercial (I&C) customer base. The Retail strategic focus is a more customer-centric approach to energy sustainability, to inspire change in energy use and help customers to use less. Under Jonathan’s leadership, both Haven Power and Opus Energy will have the unique ability to offer reliable, renewable energy generated using biomass technology. The long term ambition is that 100% of Drax’s Retail customers are on 100% renewable.
