Alison Fergusson

Alison Fergusson

principal engineer, OFWAT

Alison is a chartered chemical engineer. She has been at Ofwat for 8 years and has more than 27 years’ experience in the UK water industry, having also worked in two of the large water companies in England.  She held a number of roles, including research, engineering design and operational management roles before moving to Ofwat.  Her work there has been mostly in sewerage, wastewater and sludge treatment, and in the 2014 price review she led the sewerage, wastewater treatment and sludge cost assessment work, modelling expenditure and assessing water company business plans. She is now leading the design work on elements of the regulatory framework for the 2019 price review, in particular the approach to sewage sludge, or bioresources, regulation.

The best industry exhibition I have ever been to. Thought provoking, interesting, good networking, with a positive feel to the whole event… it was excellent!
