Maximising the value of smart meter data
Facilitators:
Jeremy Yapp, Head of Flexible Energy Systems, BEAMA
Dr Katie Russell, Data Director, OVO
As we reach the halfway point of the UK Government's smart electricity and gas metering rollout, it's clear that the potential use cases for smart meter data will be vast and complex. Smart meter data will need to be connected in near-real-time to enable sophisticated energy communities and new energy services, and to reflect medium to long-term demand for net-zero emissions. Are today’s meters and wider infrastructure fit to support these needs?
The question remains: how can we leverage smart data to deliver better customer outcomes in a world with a clean, flexible power grid but more risk of severe weather? The answer may lie in using data to contribute to energy and water security. To explore these topics and more, join Dr Katie Russell, Data Director at OVO and Jeremy Yapp, Head of Flexible Energy Systems at BEAMA in an informal and collaborative session. In this session, participants will discuss how to maximise the value of smart energy and water data in its many forms, including how to generate and use this data effectively.
