Alex Hobley
Alex is a programme manager delivering circa £30m of innovation within the area of heat pumps and improving the consumer experience. He leads stream 2 of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s Heat Pump Ready programme as well as leading the Electrification of Heat programme. He works in the Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy (SICE) directorate within the Built Innovation team.
His 10-year plus career to date has seen him work developing low carbon heating solutions for the built environment. He has managed large scale programmes encompassing hydrogen, heat networks and more recently heat pumps for domestic buildings.
Prior to working in Central Government, he worked for the Greater London Authority for nearly 7 years managing programmes to support the delivery of the Mayor of London’s climate change targets. He is a professional member of the Energy Institute and Chartered Environmentalist.
