Cuan Rowlands
Connections strategy engineer,
National Grid
Cuan began his career with National Grid Electricity Distribution, following the completion of his Master of Engineering degree at Cardiff University. Cuan has a passion for the complex challenges of designing and implementing energy systems that meet the needs of both customers and the wider grid. In Cuan’s current role as Connections Strategy Engineer, he is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for connecting new electricity customers to the grid. Having been involved with exciting projects including net zero housing, embodied carbon decision development and a range of other initiatives, Cuan is truly focussed on supporting customers to achieve decarbonisation. Creating a connections process that is aligned with the needs of customers, communities and the wider energy system is key to ensuring that National Grid continue to drive and support the transition to net zero. Cuan will continue to work closely with stakeholders from across the industry to identify emerging trends and technologies, and develop innovative solutions that enable a more efficient, transparent, and reliable connections process for National Grid customers.
