Mark Simmons
Having previously worked in manufacturing, Mark Simmons joined National Grid in 2006. After completing their Engineer Training Programme, Mark joined the Overhead Line Condition Monitoring Team and graduated with honours from Aston University after studying for a Bachelors Degree in Power System Engineering and Management. Since then he has held a number of positions in Condition Monitoring team, culminating in becoming the team manager in 2018 and expanding the team to include substation monitoring activities. During that time, he has delivered digital transformation projects, improvements to our condition monitoring processes and techniques, innovation in the field of applied sensor technologies, as well as contributing to regulatory submissions, and driving the development and adoption of drone technology at National Grid.
