Mat Ilic
Mat is the co-founder and CEO of greenworkx, an edtech startup focused on building the green workforce we need to reach net zero. Our mission is to get ten million people into green jobs over the next decade.
Before founding greenworkx in summer 2022, Mat was Chief Development Officer (CDO) at Catch22, a national charity and social business designing and delivering public services, where he had responsibility for business strategy and was instrumental in securing revenues in excess of £100m. He has had a diverse fifteen-year career so far, across private, public and not for profit sectors, including a two-year spell at No10 Downing Street as a Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, covering Home Affairs and Justice Policy, covering sensitive issues such as prison reform, violence prevention, policing and immigration.
Mat is a Churchill Fellow, a Fellow of the RSA, and holds a degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford and a Master’s in International Relations from the London School of Economics. He sits on a number of advisory boards and is a serial charity trustee.
