What is trenchless construction?
Trenchless construction methods are among the most efficient ways of installing new pipelines. These methods offer excellent options for crossing under obstacles such as existing buildings, rivers, railways, and motorways because they do not require an open trench. Although no trench is required, access points are needed at each end of the install which can be as simple as a shallow pit to a substantial shaft.
Specialist sewer or pipeline access
Pipelines are often difficult to access. They run under or close to complex infrastructure like railway lines, airport runways and highways, and plunge to depths of up to 20 metres. We can access even the most out-of-the-way pipes through trenchless civil engineering. Our engineers can design and build shafts, timber headings, or pipe jacking for side access. We can also build manholes on exiting sewers to help you operate and maintain them.
McAllister can conduct site investigations, initial designs, and survey reports to help you prepare feasibility studies. We can help you increase your projects success with trenchless techniques like horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking, micro tunnelling, or guided auger boring. Tunnels and culverts are expensive to design and install. It is important they are maintained to maximise their lifespan. Tunnel and culvert rehabilitation reverses the damage caused by infiltration, structural defects, or corrosion. We can even use these techniques to increase drainage capacity with cross passages.
