Dr. Yadira Bajón Fernández

Yadira is a Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University (UK), where she leads the bioresources treatment research within the Water Science Institute. She is passionate about translating scientific discovery into industrial impact and has over 13 years’ experience in industrial collaborative research, focusing on asset resilience and resource recovery from sludge and wastes through implementation of biorefinery concepts.Yadira is currently seconded to the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) within the UK government, supporting policy development to mitigate methane losses from AD sites in order to ensure sustainability of biogas and biomethane generation. She is a council member of the World Biogas Association and Management Committee member of IWA’s Anaerobic Digestion Specialist Group.
