Jake Tudge, Corporate Affairs Director, National Gas
Jake is the Corporate Affairs Director at National Gas and leads a team responsible for the organisation’s external engagement with local communities, civil servants, politicians, and the media. He joined National Grid in 2022 and supported the launch of the Gas Transmission & Metering business to become National Gas. Prior to this, Jake worked in management consulting at KPMG advising private sector clients and senior government officials on energy strategy and policy design across natural gas, hydrogen, and CCS. He is a King’s Ambassador for the Industrial Cadets programme which aims to inspire 1 million young people to pursue a career in STEM by 2035.
National Gas own and operate the almost 5,000-mile gas National Transmission System (NTS), and a fleet of over 60 gas compressors, to transport gas across Great Britain to power stations, heavy industries, storage sites, interconnectors, businesses, and homes. In addition, National Gas Metering operates a portfolio of over 6 million gas meters, and National Gas Services provides a 24-hour emergency response service for pipeline operators. National Gas is playing a leading role in supporting the country’s decarbonisation pathways through biomethane, hydrogen, and CCS.
