SoilDri to Launch New Towable Mixing Unit at Industry Show

SoilDri, the UK-based specialist in sustainable soil management solutions, will launch its new Towable Mixing Unit at Utility Week, giving utilities and reinstatement contractors the opportunity to view the unit and learn about its features and benefits.

Designed to address persistent challenges in utility reinstatement, including wet and variable subsoils, rising costs, unpredictable weather, and tight schedules, the Towable Mixing Unit demonstrates how SoilDri’s SEM and SEM+ drying agents can improve material workability and consistency on site.

Visitors at Utility Week can explore the machine, see how trench arisings and SoilDri would be loaded, and understand the controlled dosing process that ensures even treatment of material. The unit provides a clear example of how stable, workable material can be produced for trench reinstatement with minimal handling.

High-performance mixing is central to its design. By standardising the preparation process, the unit highlights how contractors can reduce air voids, rework, and programme delays in trench reinstatement.

Material management is also demonstrated: the machine is designed to separate oversized material above 75mm, illustrating compliance with SROH 2020 for S4 surround to apparatus and S5 trench backfill. Rejected material can be stockpiled or recycled into 6F5, showing a more circular, sustainable approach on site.

The Towable Mixing Unit is offered on a 12-month rental basis with full maintenance and support, allowing contractors to scale usage across multiple sites. SoilDri also provides carbon and cost reporting to show potential savings and environmental benefits.

Visitors to Utility Week are invited to view the Towable Mixing Unit and discuss its features and benefits with SoilDri experts throughout the event.
