SoilDri SEM - Utility Trench Backfill
SoilDri SEM is a specialised, non-binding drying agent engineered to enhance subsoil conditions on-site by effectively managing moisture variability, inconsistent compaction, and poor particle structure. Its performance-enhancing formulation increases material stiffness and assists particle interlock without stabilising or solidifying the soil, ensuring trench arisings retain their original classification (Class B, C, or D) even after "improvement".
When reinstated as S4 or S5 material, SoilDri SEM assists in achieving optimal compaction, reducing waste generation, tipping requirements, and aggregate imports, contributing to lower CO₂ emissions. By mitigating risks such as differential settlement, air void migration, and surface deflection, it also helps prevent asphalt fatigue and early reinstatement failure.
In street works and utility repairs, difficult conditions, tight deadlines, and evolving waste legislation often result in costly, time-consuming processes of testing, classifying, removing, and replacing excavated materials. SoilDri SEM simplifies this.
