I have been in the Customer Service arena for just over 20 years, with that time split fairly equally between the Banking and Utilities sectors. I have covered all of the different communication channels we have come to use as customers, face to face, telephone, social media, email, website, web chat and more recently utilising AA in some of these channels, where relevant.
My belief is that data led insights are the way to understand what your customers and staff think and feel. This is vital to being a successful customer service operation.
