Johann Van Dyke is the Senior Public Affairs Manager at Smart Energy GB, the national consumer engagement campaign for the smart meter rollout. He works with parliamentarians and stakeholders across England, Scotland and Wales to build understanding of how smart meters can benefit households, small businesses and the wider energy system. Johann leads the development and delivery of Smart Energy GB’s political and stakeholder engagement strategy, with a focus on consumer understanding and participation, alongside trust and inclusion. He regularly presents on research and insight into how people engage with a more flexible energy system, and the role smart meters play in supporting this transition. Through his work, Johann brings a consumer perspective to debates on flexibility and fairness in the energy system, with a focus on the experiences of those in vulnerable circumstances, private renters and small businesses.
