Josh Buckland works for EDF UK, where he is the Director of Strategy and Policy. His role has responsibility across the company’s broad activities in the UK, including nuclear, renewables, retail and energy services. Prior to EDF, Josh was a partner at the business advisory firm Flint Global for five years. Prior to joining Flint, he was Energy Advisor to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. In this role he provided expert policy and strategic advice to both Greg Clark and subsequently Andrea Leadsom on all major energy and climate issues. Previously he held a number of other senior roles at the centre of Government, including spending three years in the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit in No10 Downing Street working on energy and environment issues. He was also Head of the Energy Policy team in HM Treasury.
