I am Oliver Kerwin and I started my working life working for a commercial consultant in the Nuclear Sector more than 20 years ago. Despite graduating with an Engineering Degree, I’ve always worked in quantity surveying and commercial roles and always in infrastructure. I’ve worked for main contractors for most of my career, working in the water sector in AMP4, AMP6 and the back end of AMP7. In between I’ve had a second spell in the nuclear sector and a 4 year period working on a new build waste to energy power station. In my role as a Commercial Director at Mott Macdonald Bentley (MMB), I’m responsible for commercial leadership of MMB’s AMP8 framework agreements with Severn Trent Water and South West Water, as well as being a member of the MMB operational board. I carry out a key role in ensuring MMB deliver value for our clients, through our direct delivery integrated design and build model, promoting procurement led design and maximising MMB’s quality, cost and efficiency strategy. Risk allocation, both between MMB and our clients, and between MMB and our supply chain is a major part of my role.
