Prof Andrew Tyler FRSE, Scotland Hydro Nation Chair, University of Stirling As Scotland Hydro Nation Chair, Andrew provides the leadership that forges collaborations across the Scottish water sector to deliver the solutions for sustainable water management in Scotland, including going beyond net zero.  Across Scotland's Universities and Research Institutions, Andrew and the Hydro Nation Chair Team are driving objectives in Research and Innovation. These objectives include addressing process emissions, eliminating emissions from infrastructure, embracing the circular economy and enhancing the natural environment. In addition to his current role as Scotland Hydro Nation Chair, Andrew is the Academic Director for Scotland’s International Environment Centre. SIEC's mission is to drive inclusive growth and support the net zero carbon agenda. It aims to bring the environment to the heart of decision making. Andrew’s pioneering Earth observation team are transforming the use of Earth observation technologies. These technologies support quantifying water quality and quantity at local and global scales. He also leads the UK’s input into the Pan-European Research Infrastructure on River-Sea systems (DANUBIUS-RI). He was decorated by the President of Romania with the Order of Cultural Merit for leadership in building the DANUBIUS-RI pan European Research Infrastructure on River-Sea Systems.Andrew also built the ISO 17025 accredited Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory, which supports the activities of the UK environment regulators and industry.
