Susan Fox is an seasoned innovation and strategic leader with extensive cross-sector experience across energy and utilities, payments, IT, and telecommunications. She brings a strong understanding of partnership models within these ecosystems, where collaboration amongst these key stakeholders help define success at business-as-usual (BAU) operations. With her background in Engineering, Susan has also worked in a start-up spun out of the University of Oxford, where she helped scale the business and successfully commercialise one of the industry’s’ first black box in-vehicle solutions for the insurance industry, a complete contrast to scaling innovation within a Corporate environment. This combined experience underpins her pragmatic approach to bridging innovation from concept to commercial reality, with some notable observations that in other sectors, the pressure to integrate and scale is commercial. In energy, the system doesn’t always create that same urgency. She is a strong advocate for the critical partnerships existing between utilities, regulators, and innovators if innovation at BAU moves from an exception to a constant.
