Standardisation as an enabler: BIM, modular delivery and better productivity

The industry's incomplete shift from bespoke to standardised, offsite-built kit — and from drawing-based to model-based design — is a pressure point that adds another layer to contractors’ design processes, who are obliged to design in BIM then routinely pay to convert to 2D drawings.
