This is what Southern Water had to say about Utility Week Live 2025
What objectives did you have for UWL?
Our goal was to engage the public with a hands-on exhibit, raise awareness about what happens in sewers, and highlight how blockages form and how we deal with them.
How did UWL meet those objectives?
It exceeded expectations. Over 40 people took part in the exhibit, they left with greater knowledge, and the feedback we received was fantastic.
What does UWL do differently from other events you attend?
UWL invited us to create something interactive. This was the first time people whether they are in the water industry or not - could physically experience what it’s like to clear a blockage.
Who did you meet at UWL?
We connected with industry experts, contractors, and even engaged stakeholders who didn’t expect to be interested until they tried it for themselves.
How did UWL improve your brand awareness?
It helped us tell our story to a wider audience, showing that we’re not just a water company - we’re tackling real, everyday challenges.
How did UWL help you demonstrate thought leadership?
By partnering with Water Research Centre and Cappagh Brown, we delivered a fun experience where visitors could really get stuck in. It’s something new and different for UWL which hasn't gone to other shows before – we can't wait to be back next year, bigger and better.
