LEADING THE CHANGE IN WATER INNOVATION 💧

We were delighted to launch the Water Innovation Hub at UWL25, where we brought the industry’s best minds to bear on the water sector's most pressing problems, showcase innovation and facilitate shared problem solving.

The water industry is gearing up to deliver infrastructure on an unprecedented scale, in a bid to clean up the country’s environment, support the transition to net zero and meet the changing demands of customers. Innovation is critical to delivering this transformation on the scale and at the pace required – business as usual simply won’t do.

This dedicated space brought together water companies and their industry partners to showcase cutting-edge innovations and provide opportunities for informal networking. Exciting features include: kicking off the world famous Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival, new roundtable sessions, exclusive innovations display and more.

A display of innovations leading the change in the water sector, in partnership with our sister brand, Springwise, the global innovation platform.

The 'Meet the Innovator' workshops will bring together water company innovation teams with innovators to discuss the challenges and opportunities around fostering innovation in UK water and embedding new solutions into business as usual.

The world famous Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival will come to life at UWL, with two onsite mini-sprints tackling the issue of environmental benefits.

UWL25 offered more free content than ever before in its award-winning content programme - running across six stages for two days. Sessions included:

💧 AMP8: Delivering the impossible - leading the change - with speakers from Portsmouth Water, Anglian Water, Wessex Water and Ofwat.

💧 Designing for nature to tackle major challenges in the water sector - with speakers from Ofwat, Scottish Water, Southern Water and Mott MacDonald.

💧 Water resources and securing supply: ensuring we have enough water for the future - with speakers from Thames Water, Natural England and National Infrastructure Commission.

💧 The leakage problem: rethinking routine maintenance vs climate investment - with speakers from SES Water, Anglian Water and Cadent.
