A thrilling new competition showcased the expertise of drainage and wastewater professionals in a high-pressure race to clear a sewer blockage! Developed in partnership with Southern Water and WRC, this first-of-its-kind competition spotlighted the critical work of wastewater teams across the UK.

UTILITY WEEK FLEX AWARDS

The Flex Awards celebrated the innovators dedicated to advancing energy flexibility. They recognised creative ideas and strategies that pave the way for energy flexibility, and make markets more inclusive and accessible.

NEW! WATER INNOVATION HUB

The new hub hosted a series of innovation mini-sprints in association with Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival, kicking off their programme for this year. The Water Innovation Hub also hosted our partners Spring, British Water, and global innovation platform Springwise, and brought together water companies and innovators to tackle the challenges of AMP8.

NEW! INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY PAVILION

The NEW Infrastructure Delivery Pavilion showcased the work of the Infrastructure Delivery Forum, a partnership between the three transmission operators supported by Utility Week and Autodesk, designed to develop and implement more collaborative ways of working with the supply chain. This included the establishment of an industry charter for digitally-enabled infrastructure delivery and the launch of IM4Power - a best practice community for information management.

VIP MEMBER LOUNGE    

A VIP hub where Utility Week Members networked, worked and refueled with a complimentary lunch and refreshments.

10TH ANNIVERSARY DRINKS RECEPTION

UWL celebrated its 10th year anniversary in May 2025. Guests enjoyed a complimentary drinks reception and celebrated utilities innovation together.

A place to grab a coffee, refreshments and meet industry peers. 

COLLABORATE EXCHANGE

Our unique Collaborate Exchange programme housed small peer-to-peer discussion sessions, allowing participants to share experiences and best practices, workshop common problems, and share views and solutions on key challenges facing the sector.

Each session was lightly moderated, and participants worked through key themes in the sessions.

 

THE ENERGY INNOVATION CENTRE'S INNOVATION ZONE

The Energy Innovation Centre's Innovation Zone, in partnership with nine of the UK's energy networks, supported innovators through the transition to a net zero power system by 2030.
